About Bat blog

Inspired by ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ a public return to the mats in the fall of 2012 warranted The Bat Blog. From January 2010 until then it served as way to evolve my thinking as I wasn’t actively on the mats during this time for numerous reasons.

As far as me, I’ve done Jiu-Jitsu for a long time by most standards and hold a higher rank.

Why am I being deliberately ambiguous? Well, number one, I’m Batman. Number two, this place in its intent and best moments is about ideas.

And, whether you’re a white or black belt, you don’t have to be a chef to taste the soup. Solid ideas resonate and inspire, so it doesn’t matter who I am.

Be your own hero and love Jiu-Jitsu:

My name is Alexia, and I was wondering if I could speak to you about a possible guest post opportunity. I have been trying to increase awareness for MMA- but in particular- women in MMA. If you are interested in working together, please feel free to send me an email.

    Best regards,

Thanks for the note Alexia. I have one female BJJ student, but don’t do any MMA coaching per say; so I don’t think I could be of much help here. Cheers and best of luck!

    Hey Jeff,

Just came across your site from the Cane Prevost one.

    What is your BJJ experience?

Hey Mike, thanks for checking out the blog. I’ve been training BJJ since 1996, and was promoted to black belt by Christopher Haueter in march of 2010. I do the bulk of my training at Nemesis Jiu-Jitsu in downtown PDX.

Great to see you’re still bjj active & training with Erick.. and congrats on the black belt! Not sure if you remember me, but I used to drive to Beaverton SBG/Impact from Brookings, Or.. I enjoyed rolling with you & Armand.. hit me up if you’re doing privates. Still do privates with Armand when he has time, but he’s pretty buisy. I’m living up here in Portland now. Looking for a few select people to train with, shoot an email & I’ll fill you in. Travis

I just wanted to say hi. I hope you are doing well. I’ve been training in the Berg for the last four years with occasional trips to Beaverton. Eric has invited me to Nemesis but I haven’t made the time. Wishing you all the best.

    Hi Jeff,

It’s appreciated that you keep serving up the food for thought in meal-sized portions. While I know you don’t need validation from random people on the internet, I like to acknowledge those that are doing good stuff. That being said, thank you.
